Biography
Born 1966 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Education 1989: MSc, Faculty of Biology, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski Employment: - 1993-2010: biologist and network administrator at the Institute of Botany, BAS - 2010-present: biologist at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research, BAS Participation in projects (selected): 1997 - 1999: expert for development of botanical databases for NP “Rila” and NP “Central Balkan” of the GEF Project for Biodiversity Conservation in Bulgaria. 2000 - 2003: expert for database organization and management in the regional node of Euro+Med PlantBase Project of the 5th Framework Programme of the EC.
Research Interest
Taxonomy of higher plants; genus Hypericum; rare and threatened plants research; aquatic plants research; application of geographical information systems and databases in botany and ecology.
