Date of birth: 11.11.1954 Education: 1974-1979: master degree in Biology (Ecology and Nature Conservation) at Sofia University “St. K. Ohridsky” 1990: PhD in Institute of zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Key qualifications: mammals (taxonomy, evolution, ecology, historical zoogeography), biodiversity, community and conservation ecology of terrestrial animals, long-term ecological monitoring, Bulgaria, Balkan peninsula Experience record: 1979 – 1990: Research fellow, Institute of zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. 1990 – 1996. Assistance Professor, Institute of zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Institute of zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. 1996 - 2013: Associated Professor/Docent, Institute of zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences/ Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research. Membership in professional bodies: National Scientific Council on Zoology and Ecology; Editorial Board of the journal Acta zoologica bulgarica. Member of Programme Committee and National Coordinator in the Sub-Priority Global Change and Ecosystems (Biodiversity and Ecosystems) in Sixth Framework Programme. Regional faunistic and ecologic studies on small mammals; Pliocene –Quaternary Palaeonthology of small mammals; ecology , palaeoecology, and taxonomy.
