Biography
Mr. Goldby, a partner at Venrock, has served as the chairman of the Board of Directors since April 2008. For nine years, Mr. Goldby was chief executive officer of Symyx Technologies. Prior to Symyx, he was the chief executive officer of MDL Information Systems. Before MDL, he held various management positions at Alza Corporation, including President of Alza Pharmaceuticals. He was also president of Dynapol, and is a registered patent attorney. Mr. Goldby holds an A.B. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
