Biography
Dr. Aharoni obtained her postdoc from Stanford University, CA, USA and her PhD in Life Sciences The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. She is currently working as Senior Staff Scientist, Department of Immunology, The Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. Dr. Aharoni has contributed greatly to the field of immunology through her work published in reputed journals, her works enlightens a wide range of aspects in immunology covering immunopathology, multiple sclerosis, encephalomyelitis, immunomodulation, neuroprotection, Immune rejection, neurotrophic factor expression, neurogenesis and much more, she holds the position of editor and reviewer in many reputed international journals. Main research interests: Immunopathology and therapy of multiple sclerosis (MS) and its model experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE); immunomodulation, neuroprotection and repair processes in the Central Nervous System; The mechanism of action of Glatiramer Acetate; Immune rejection; Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Published more than 50 papers and reviews on these subjects
