Biography
Henry Denotter was elected to the Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) board of directors in 2015. He is the Other Organizations representative on the board. Henry was born and raised on the family farm located near Kingsville in Essex County. Denotter Farms Inc. operates 1,500 acres of predominantly clay-loam soils and grows corn, soybean and wheat in rotation. The farm is owned by Henry, his wife Kathy. Their son Jeremy is an integral part of the operation and represents the next generation at Denotter Farms. Henry advanced from a County Director to a Provincial Director in Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association, before being named President of the provincial organization in 2013. Henry is a member of the Kingsville Drainage Committee, and was recognized in 2000 with the Conservation Farm Award from Essex Region Conservation Authority and Essex SCIA. Henry is also the Co-Chair of the Local Food Grains growing project. Henry is a graduate of Conestoga College with a Photographic Arts Diploma and he continues to be an avid photographer today. Henry is a strong advocate of the Environmental Farm Plan and believes strongly in keeping the land alive and the soil organisms thriving to ensure a sustainable resource for future generations.
