Biography

Research Interest
Dr. Bezanson is part of the clinical team in the Psychology Department. Her interests focus on mindfulness and the efficacy of mindful practice for the prevention and intervention of mental illness. Specifically, Dr. Bezanson is interested in mindfulness as a universal strategy to teach children/youth to strengthen emotional regulation and improve attention. Currently, she is using practices of gratitude to improve general well-being. Dr. Bezanson is also interested in using mindful practice to deepen the ability of novice clinicians to develop the moment to moment awareness necessary to cultivate complex qualities such as genuineness, empathy, and compassion
