Biography
After completing a Bachelor of Physical Education and Health Promotion, René completed a Masters of Arts degree in Child and Development Studies at Laurentian University. He continued his training working on the role of beta-adrenergic receptors in skeletal muscle at the Université de Montréal where he completed his PhD. He also did some research in Copenhagen before completing a post doctoral fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he studied muscle adaptations using molecular biology techniques and surgical approaches. He joined Acadia University’s School of Recreation Management and Kinesiology in 1999.
