Biography
Michael Derksen is the Senior Vice President of Aecon Transportation West responsible for expanding Aecon’s western transportation business, enhancing vertical integration opportunities, and leveraging proven Foundations expertise in western Canada. He joined Aecon in 2014. Mr. Derksen has over 30 years of extensive experience working on large-scale transportation and transit projects, and has spent his entire career managing and executing Public-Private Partnership, design-build, and traditional bid-build projects both in Canada and the United States. Prior to joining Aecon, Mr. Derksen worked for Granite Construction Company, one of the largest construction and materials companies in the United States. During his 26-year career at Granite, Mr. Derksen held positions of increasing levels of responsibility in operations and management. Mr. Derksen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary
