Biography
Yonni Fushman is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary. He holds executive responsibility for managing a broad portfolio of corporate services for the Aecon group of companies, including legal, corporate secretarial, risk management, ethics and compliance, insurance and bonding, and strategic planning services. Mr. Fushman is chair of Aecon’s Ethics & Compliance Committee and chair of Aecon’s Commercial Risk Committee, an initiative he championed and was recognized as Innovation of the Year in 2016 by the Canadian Lawyer Magazine, and Prior to joining Aecon in 2005, Mr. Fushman practiced law in the United States. Mr. Fushman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Economics from the University of Southern California in 1997 and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2001. Mr. Fushman is Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Law section, a co-founder of the Construction Corporate Counsel Forum, a co-director of Osgoode Hall’s Construction Law Certificate program, a member of the Ontario General Contractors Association’s Lien Act Review Task Force, and a member of the Board of Directors of North York Arts.
