Steven James Douglas

Biography

Mr. Steven James Douglas, also known as Steve, B.Com. (Hons), CPA, CA, has been the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Agrium Inc. since November 3, 2014. Mr. Douglas is responsible for all strategic elements of the financial operations of Agrium and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. He served as Senior Managing Partner of Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Mr. Douglas served as the Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield Global Real Estate LLC, Manager of Brookfield Property Partners L.P. until September 27, 2013. He served as Senior Managing Partner of Real Estate at Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Mr. Douglas served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at General Growth Properties, Inc. from July 2010 to December 31, 2011 and served as its Director of accounting and finance since July 2010. Mr. Douglas has real estate experience, including his extensive financial experience in various segments of the real estate industry. He served as President at Brookfield Properties Corporation from January 2009 to July 2010 and also served as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1996 to 2003, where he oversaw its re-launch as a public company and the completion of three major acquisitions. Mr. Douglas served as a Senior Managing Partner of Property Group at Brookfield Asset Management Inc., where he focused on its operations and international portfolio. Mr. Douglas was a key Member of Brookfield team for more than 16 years, serving in a variety of senior positions. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and a Senior Vice President at Brookfield Office Properties Inc (now Brookfield Office Properties Canada) and also served as its President from January 2009 to July 2010. Mr. Douglas served as the Head of Operations at Brookfield Asset Management Inc., where he focused on its operations and international property portfolio. Mr. Douglas served as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer at Glencore Canada Corporation from November 11, 2003 to August 2006. Prior to joining Brookfield, Mr. Douglas was also employed at Ernst and Young in Toronto. Mr. Douglas served as Vice Chairman of Brookfield Incorporacoes SA. He has been an Independent Director of U.S. Steel Canada Inc. since May 10, 2006. He served as a Director of Bpy General Partner - General Partner of Brookfield Property Partners L.P. He served as a Director of Rouse Properties, Inc., since August 2011. He served as a Director of Brookfield Incorporacoes. He served as a Director of Canadian Electrolytic ZInc. Limited, Manager of Noranda Income Fund. He served as a Trustee of Noranda Operating Trust of Noranda Income Fund until August 2006. Mr. Douglas holds a Chartered Accountant designation and has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.
