Biography
She is completed her Ph.D program at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization- International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac) where my research involved approaches to improve global health by developing novel vaccine technologies. She work at VIDO allowed her to perform applied research with a focus on commercialization of technology. Completing an MBA program was a great benefit to her education as it taught me how to assess and evaluate new technologies. Many innovations fail to enter the market because of poor commercialization and marketing management. Part of her training involved contract work with University of Saskatchewan Industry Liaison Office to perform market analysis to ensure a select technology developed at the University has commercial merit. The project involved market analysis and negotiating with market players regarding technology business opportunities. Her work bridged academia research with industry. She is currently working at Ag-West Bio Inc. where I was hired to develop, implement and manage the company’s Competitive and Strategic Intelligence Service. Her position involves training bio-science small and medium-sized enterprises in the area of competitive and strategic intelligence in order to properly collect and analyze market-oriented research and technology development information to reduce risks associated with commercialization.
