Biography
Hickman is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted police (RCMP) with over 37 years of service and rank of Chief Superintendent. His diverse policing experience includes all phases of operational, administrative and protective duties. He has vast experience in reorganization and restructuring, development and implementation of managerial reviews, audits, risk assessments and restorative justice. With leadership roles in all aspects of the RCMP, Mr. Hickman has provided extensive liaison with elected officials at every level, ranging from senior federal government, provincial offices and enforcement as well as Canadian military, foreign officials and dignitaries. In August 2001, Mr. Hickman was appointed as the G8 security coordinator for the summit held in Kananaskis. This represented the largest police security operation held in Canada up to that time and during the post-9-11 period of escalating global violence at international summits. In his retirement, Mr. Hickman has worked as a consultant for both government and numerous companies and has acted as a board member for public, government and non-for-profit boards.
