Biography

What's your favourite thing about Appnovation? The hustle. What's your story/professional background? James started his professional journey with a degree in International Relations and History from The University Of British Columbia (UBC). Following his time at UBC he cut his teeth in the tech space as a Senior Account Executive selling Internet Marketing and Web Usability Testing Services at VKI Studios/Cardinal Path (Acquired by Dentsu Agency Group in 2015) Following VKI, James joined VideoClix Technologies as Director of Business Development where he was involved in raising venture capital, negotiating content partnerships with Tier 1 Content Providers, product development and design, and sales of the platform. Post VideoClix, James joined Appnovation as the first member on the business side of the company to help Arnold manage Sales. As the company grew, James transitioned to running Business Development where he currently manages all of Appnovation's Strategic and Channel Partnerships. He currently sits as part of the Senior Management team at Appnovation and helps drive the technical vision of the company. What do you bring to the table? International business development and partnership experience. What do you do (in/out of work) to excel in your role? For me the main thing, is to get outside when I can. You can find me Skiing at Whistler/BlackComb in the winter and on the golf course in the summer. What do you enjoy outside of work? Golf, skiing, tennis, and Netflix.
