Biography

What's your favourite thing about Appnovation? Seeing all these people with different cultural backgrounds work together towards a great common goal. What's your story/professional background? With a history in professional banking environments, I learned to appreciate high quality coding, standardization of development practices and processes, and quality assurance. As a Technical Architect Leader at Belgiums largest life insurance company I helped a team of 80 developers by defining the technical architecture of the backend systems and defining and educating quality standards. Since 2007, I worked on moving these high standards to the professional web-development world. I was a co-founder of 'Krimson - Drupal Architects', Belgiums first Drupal only web agency, which became Wunderkraut Benelux 5 years later; joined Appnovation in 2016. What do you bring to the table? I have a technical background in IT. Next to challenging technical tasks, I like to be an entrepreneur: communicating a vision and using that vision as a foundation to build up a company with all stakeholders, especially the employees in mind. What do you do (in/out of work) to excel in your role? Focus: I like to focus on a specific task, and finish that before starting the next one. What do you enjoy outside of work? I have 2 daughters with a lot of hobbies, requiring a lot of my free time. When they are out of the house, I hope to be able to pick up my hobbies again: skydiving and long hikes, and maybe one day finishing that Private Pilot License course that I started over 5 years ago.
