Biography

What's your favourite thing about Appnovation? The perfect mix of great people, great clients, great partners, and great technologies in addition to our ability to still grow at lightning speed while ensuring that we deliver high quality solutions. What's your story/professional background? With over 15 years in the IT field across multiple sectors in Canada and the United States, I have developed a solid understanding of the North American market's role in today’s global economy. At Appnovation, as the Director of Digital Solutions & Architecture, I provide business and technical leadership to clients by recommending strategies and architecting solutions that best support the business objectives. In addition to a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Sherbrooke University, I have also obtained my Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) designation. I have successfully delivered solutions to a wide range of companies including technology start-up, the military and government organizations and have a keen interest in information security and the impact of the SMACT forces (Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud and the Internet of Things) on application development and integration. What do you bring to the table? Technology leadership. For me, technology and the software development discipline are not just part of my day-to-day job, they are my passion, my hobby. But technology leadership is not only about technical skills, it's about providing the right balance of technical acumen and soft skills - who you are as a person and how others relate to you. Technology knowledge gives you credibility, mentoring, and taking actions give you leadership. That's what I'm trying to bring to the table every day. What do you do (in/out of work) to excel in your role? Constantly seeking to improve my skill set and my understanding of the market trends and the technical landscape with researching, thinking, and doing but more importantly how can I improve by learning about myself. What do you enjoy outside of work? "Outside, outside, outside". Whether spending a day on the beach with my family, going hiking in remote trails or just going out for a walk, I try to get outside and enjoy what Earth has to offer to the maximum. Do you belong to any boards/sponsor any charities, etc? If so, where? Not currently, but I would love the opportunity to do so in the future. Right now, coaching and mentoring my three (3) children through life is where my volunteer time go.
