Biography
What's your favourite thing about Appnovation? Life at Appnovation is never dull. Where did that time go?! What's your story/professional background? I spent over 20 years as a GIS specialist in the UK - as a developer, project and delivery team manager. Coming to Vancouver in 2013, I swapped maps for websites and although the pace is a little bit faster, its been a natural fit here at Appnovation. My main area of expertise is project management, in both traditional and agile environments. What do you bring to the table? I think I am pretty good at setting up and managing teams, defining new processes, and managing projects at all levels. What's most important is doing these in a way that aligns with business strategy. What do you do (in/out of work) to excel in your role? I am always looking at better ways to do things. It's not always about taking the easy option. I think it is very important to maintain professional qualifications and to keep aligned with best practices. What do you enjoy outside of work? I am a big sports fan and like to be as active as possible... football (the non-American kind), golf, skiing, running are my main sports... and I love watching hockey (the Canadian kind!).
