Ramez Al-turk

Biography

Ramez has more than 6 years of industry experience as an Engineer and Technologist. This exposed him to various areas of the electrical engineering discipline. He first obtained a diploma in telecommunications engineering technology. After gaining some office and field experience, he pursued higher education to achieve a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering. Post-graduation he spent close to 4 years working at a consulting firm. One of his responsibilities as a project lead was to design electrical distribution systems for Oil and Gas clients, always delivering his work packages with one thing in common: client satisfaction. Most recently, he gained exposure to the automation field. In his new role, he provides support to Suncor’s High Voltage Transmission and Distribution group. He is also completing a Masters in electrical engineering with the intent is to specialize in renewable energy power systems. Passionate about engineering, he finds ways to learn new concepts and stay active in his field. Whenever the opportunity permits, for instance, he tutors freshmen University students. He has also held large exam preparation sessions to help students get ready for their math and engineering finals. You can have a great conversation with Ramez on most electrical engineering topics. This is because he is proficient in low to medium voltage systems, and has a good understanding of communication and control networks.
