Biography
James is a partner at Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP. He has over 25 years’ experience in helping companies maximize the value of their intellectual property assets, focusing on licensing and related transactions. Mr. Hatton is a director of BC Hydro, the principal electricity utility for the province of British Columbia. He is also the chair of Life Sciences BC and a director of the Central City Foundation. Mr. Hatton was president of The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society for six years, and remains an honorary life director of that organization. He has formerly served on boards including the board of governors of Royal Roads University and the governing council of the National Research Council of Canada, the government of Canada’s premier research, development and innovation organization.
