Dr. Barnes’ research interests involve use of the yeast Saccharomycescerevisiae, a genetically tractable model eukaryote, to understand several issues of basic cell biology, including the multiple roles that the conserved histone chaperone FACT has in the process of eukaryotic gene transcription.
