Gena Restivo

Biography

Gena Restivo is the Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communications at AstraZeneca Canada Inc., one of Canada’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. She has more than 17 years experience in the biopharmaceutical sector. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Gena worked as a corporate trainer, for various companies across the country. Gena has held a number of senior leadership roles across multiple functional teams during her 15 years with AstraZeneca Canada. Gena transitioned from leading the Information Technology team to taking on the Director, Human Resources role in 2015, and was the acting head of Human Resources before her appointment to the role of Vice President. An advocate for employee engagement, employee development and a healthy work culture, Gena has extensive experience cultivating highly engaged teams through her people-oriented approach to leadership. Her expertise in change management has been instrumental in driving and supporting AstraZeneca Canada’s Human Resources and business strategy. In addition to her work in Canada, Gena is also a member of the North American Human Resources Leadership team, working to progress Human Resources priorities at a regional level. Gena holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Toronto, Ontario. She lives with her husband, Eric, in Toronto.
