Biography
I joined Athabasca University in 2007. My main responsibilities as an Assistant Professor include the coordination and tutoring of undergraduate mathematics courses, and research in the area of Mathematical Biology. I obtained both my Bachelor and Masters in Science in Mathematics in Venezuela, from Universidad Simón Bolívar and Universidad de Los Andes, respectively. I received my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from University of Alberta, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.
Research Interest
My main interest in the field of Mathematical Biology is the study of mathematical models that describe the spatio-temporal dynamics of regulatory proteins within the cell nucleus and proteins on the cell membrane
