Biography
Jason Foster has been with Athabasca University since 2001, initially as an Individualized Study Tutor and more recently as a full-time faculty member. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from Saint Mary’s University where his dissertation examined union revitalization and contemplated new conceptualizations of union forms in the 21st century. He has published extensively in the area of temporary foreign workers in Canada. Prior to joining AU, Jason was a researcher and practitioner of labour relations, working for a series of non-profit organizations and spending more than 10 years as the Director of Policy Analysis for the Alberta Federation of Labour. At the AFL he was the specialist in occupational health and safety, employment and labour law and social justice issues.
