Gerald Harper

Biography

Dr. Harper is a geoscientist and professional engineer with fifty years of world wide, resource industry experience, having worked for several major world mining companies, managing exploration activities, developing mines and managing operating mines. He is President of Gamah International Limited, a mineral industry consulting firm. He was President of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada from 1998 to 2000 and still represents the association on several committees. From 2004 till July 2009 Dr. Harper was Senior Vice President, Mongolian Operations of Western Prospector Group Ltd., when it was taken over by a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation to acquire its Gurvanbulag uranium mine. He was a founder (in 2007) and until he left Mongolia, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mineral Industry Safety Association of Mongolia. Dr. Harper is a director and President of Minfocus Exploration Corp. which has made a zinc discovery in British Columbia. He was a director of Mustang Minerals Limited and NWM Mining Corporation. He is co-discoverer of the Current Lake platinum, palladium-rich, copper, nickel deposit near Thunder Bay and the Mayville copper, nickel deposit in Manitoba. He holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in geology from University of London.
