Biography
I am a scientist with more than 7 years of experience in pre-clinical models, cancer biology, inflammation and project management experience in both academic and industry setting. With respect to my project management experience, I have managed several large projects for big pharma companies in the US, Europe, and Japan. My Ph.D. thesis work was focused on understanding the link between prostate inflammation and prostate carcinogenesis. Through my research work, I was able to establish that inflammation does pre-dispose the prostate tissue to form pre-cancerous lesions in the mouse. Through successful collaborations with Johns Hopkins Cancer research center, I was able to interact and work with clinicians who are actively researching novel biomarkers for prostate inflammation and prostate cancer. The potential biomarkers that were identified during my research are currently being validated in clinical samples. I have worked in various departments at Johns Hopkins to collaborate in the area of immunology, cancer, and epigenetics.
