Satya Gupta  

Biography

Gupta is one of the world’s leading experts on well stimulation. With more than 34 years in the industry, including 26 at Pressure Pumping, he has made significant contributions to the industry and Baker Hughes. A sampling of the technologies he has developed or helped develop includes: encapsulated breakers, polymer-specific enzyme breakers, Sorb long-term release production assurance products, premium performance aqueous fluid systems, non-aqueous fluid systems, and ultra-lightweight proppants "I can’t conceive of anyone more deserving of the appointment to Technology Fellow than Dr. Satya Gupta," said Harold Brannon, Vice President of Technology, Pressure Pumping. "His contributions to the Pressure Pumping technology product and system portfolio have benefited the company enormously, both directly through his creative development, and indirectly through leadership, technical advisement, and mentoring." Gupta has more than 80 U.S. patents and more than 70 international patents issued and pending. Currently, he is Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Distinguished Lecturer giving talks on fracturing with little or no water around the world. Gupta also won the 2012 Baker Hughes Lifetime Achievement Award.
