John C. W. Ritchie

Biography

"ohn Ritchie is a Civil Engineer with more than 35 years of experience in the field of hydropower and water resources planning, engineering and management, and in the field of business integrity management for consulting engineering firms. Prior to his recent retirement, Mr. Ritchie was a senior Consultant with Hatch Ltd., a company that specializes in engineering consulting and project implementation. He worked in senior corporate roles for Hatch and its predecessor company for over 35 years. His project experience includes hydropower and water resources projects in many parts of Canada, and in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. He recently served as Project Compliance Director on a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project, based in Perth, Western Australia. He currently works as a consultant in the field of anti-corruption compliance for engineering service firms. Actively involved in the Engineering community, Mr. Ritchie has volunteered his time on numerous committees, task forces and boards, including his tenure as Chair of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Capacity Building Committee, as President of the Consulting Engineers of British Columbia, and his current involvement with FIDIC's Integrity Management Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of two Canadian consulting engineering associations, the Canadian Hydropower Association, and on the Board of Directors of Acres Incorporated (now Hatch) as an employee shareholder. He currently serves on the Board of Transparency International – Canada."
