Biography
Mr. John Kirincic serves as Vice President of Finance at Bench Accounting Inc. Mr. Kirincic served as an Investment Manager at Vancity Capital Corporation. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Controller at GrowthWorks Ltd., GrowthWorks Canadian Fund Ltd., L.P. and GrowthWorks Commercialization Fund Ltd. He served as the Vice President of Finance and Investment at Zynik Capital Corporation, where he was part of numerous transactions, ranging in scope from deep value/turnaround investments to seed investments. He served there for four years. He spent nine years at GrowthWorks Capital as a part of the founding management team, which he joined in 1999 and also served as a Controller. Eventually, he became the Chief Financial Officer of the GrowthWorks Capital and all of the managed venture capital funds under its umbrella. Prior to that, Mr. Kirincic was involved in the oil and gas industry and also served in public practice. He served as an Analyst at Terasen Gas, where he contributed to reorganization projects as part of Terasen's transformation from a crown corporation to a private company. In the past, he has managed a wide array of complex and uniquely structured transactions, ranging from deep value and turnaround to seed investments in public and private markets. He was a Business Analyst at BC Gas, where he contributed to reorganization projects as part of BC Gas's transformation from a crown corporation to a private company. He started his career in public practice at Coopers & Lybrand, where he was part of the audit and tax group. He has expertise in corporate finance, venture capital and private equity building value for all stakeholders. He has developed deep proficiency as a Senior Financial Builder and Leader, including roles such as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, Chief Investment and Treasury Manager and Senior Advisor to corporate boards and committees and active board directorship/observer roles. He has a passion for being involved with early stage high-growth oriented enterprises and their entrepreneurs, thereby facilitating a positive environment by providing stewardship for corporate development, focused strategy approach, transparent governance and financial success. Over the last number of years alongside the Growth Capital team, he has managed the investments and operations under Vancity’s growth capital portfolio. He served as a Director of Noble Iron Inc. from March 6, 2009 to March 11, 2011. At various points in time over the last decade, he has served as an Independent Director to various public and private companies. Mr. Kirincic holds a Chartered Professional Accountant/ Canadian Certified General Accountant designation (CPA/CGA). He has a BBA in Accounting and Finance, as well as a Certificate in Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University.
