Douglas Kemp-welch

Biography

 Doug received his MBA from Queens University in 1984. For 15 years , Doug effectively managed large business units within two Chartered Banks in Canada and successfully lead numerous major restructurings and reorganizations.  For the last 15 years as Principal of Kemp Welch Capital Management Inc., Doug has successfully overseen the strategic development, execution and funding of numerous early stage public and private technology and manufacturing companies. Having served in the capacity of Chairman, Director and CEO, he has successfully negotiated exit strategies for numerous companies in challenging financial times. He obtained his ICD.D designation as an accredited Corporate Director from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2007. In September 2014, Doug's brother, John Kemp-Welch joined the firm after a successful 30 year career in the venture capital industry the last 17 years with BDC. KWCM provides hands on strategic financial and operational advisory support to small cap growth companies across North America.  Recently Doug completed a 4 year assignment as CEO of BlueOcean NutraSciences Inc. (TSXV:BOC) , a Canadian based specialty oil development company, during which he developed the Company's strategic plan, took the Company public through an IPO and raised over $6 million from retail and institutional investors to execute its business model.
