Biography
Gale comes to Booth University College with many years of experience in the social service field. Her career reflects mobility throughout Canada, having been employed in settings that included hospital, school districts, a youth probation centre, and residential care working with populations ranging from paediatric to geriatric.
Research Interest
Currently, Gale works for the Vancouver Island Health Authority at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, where she provides support to patients on a medical assessment unit. This involves counselling support, discharge planning and resource support, psychosocial assessments and obtaining collateral for physicians and psychiatrists, and financial assistance. Populations she supports vary from the young to the elderly facing mental health and addictions issues to people facing terminal illness and end of life care.
