Lisa Fiksenbaum

Biography

Lisa Fiksenbaum received her PhD in Social-Personality Psychology from York University in 2012. She has had the opportunity to engage in rich and interdisciplinary research. Her dissertation focused on testing a comprehensive theoretical model, using structural equation modelling, which examined antecedents and consequences of work-family conflict (WFC), one of the leading stressors identified by wage and salary employees, particularly those with dependent-care responsibilities. Part of her dissertation research, “Supportive work-family environments: Implications for work-family conflict and well-being”, was published in The International Journal of Human Resource Management.

Research Interest

Lisa has collaborated with several colleagues from multiple disciplines. Her involvement in these projects has certainly broadened her understanding of various theories, methods, and issues, and has exposed her to international and cross-cultural research. Lisa is a seasoned course instructor, having developed and taught students at a number of academic institutions, levels of teaching, and a variety of class sizes.
