Biography
Emma Varley is an Associate Professor of Anthropology Co-Chair, Canadian Medical Anthropology Network of the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA) 2016 Brandon University Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award. Brandon University is one of a very few predominantly undergraduate liberal arts and sciences institutions in Canada.
Research Interest
Critical Medical Anthropology and Global Public Health, Violence and Conflict, Islam and Northern Pakistan, International Development, Disaster and Humanitarian Studies; Neoliberalism, Corruption and the State, Magic and the Occult, Participatory Ethnographic Research Methods and Evaluation.
