Biography

With Bridgewater Bank since 2004, Peter O’Neill was part of the influential and successful team that obtained the bank’s Schedule 1 charter. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction and operations of the bank. Peter’s career includes more than 38 years of banking experience, with senior roles at RBC and ATB Financial. He has led over 800 employees within multi-disciplinary teams in urban and rural settings. He has significant expertise in the areas of strategic planning, human resources, retail banking, business banking, alternative distribution channels, customer contact centers, wealth management and dealer direct auto financing. He is actively involved in the local business community through Calgary Region Home Builders Association, Calgary Mortgage & Loans Association, Calgary Chamber of Commerce and the Registered Deposit Brokers Association of Canada. Peter is a Fellow (Honours) of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, holds the ICB Professional Bankers designation and is an Accredited Mortgage Professional through Mortgage Professionals Canada.  Within the Canadian Banker’s Association, Peter is a member of both the Executive Council, the Domestic Banks CEO’s Committee and the National Housing Forum.
