Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at Brock University. Prior to joining Brock University, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Saskatchewan. I received my Bachelor degree from the Shanghai Medical University in China, and my Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Saskatchewan. I was then a Postdoctoral Fellow at Boston University in the USA.
Research Interest
Understanding of the biology, physiology and pathology of adventitia in cardiovascular function; Adventitial oxidative stress of blood vessels, a key factor in contributing to the vascular dysfunction associated with cardiovascular disease; The expression of vitamin D synthesizing 1α-hydroxylase and vitamin D receptors and their role in vascular oxidative stress and calcification processes
