Biography

My main project is the lead of the COMPASS Mental Health Module – a research platform designed to evaluate the real-world effectiveness of school-based mental health interventions. The project aims to build capacity and provide infrastructure to continually improve programs, policies, and resources for the advancement of youth mental health. I am also a Co-Investigator on the larger COMPASS study – a 9-year (2012-2021) prospective cohort study that uses a hierarchical quasi-experimental design to evaluate how programs, policies, and built environments impact various youth health behaviours and outcomes (diet, physical activity, screen time, substance use, bullying, obesity, school achievement and connectedness) among 50,000+ students and 80+ secondary schools.
