Biography
Cigarettes, vapes, marijuana: most young adults have tried at least one and some are regular users. Dr. Kelli-an Lawrance studies why and how young adults stop using these products. After working in Public Health, and co-authoring Canadian Cancer Society’s nation-wide quit smoking program, she joined Brock where she launched LeaveThePackBehind.org—an innovative, hands-on initiative that uses social influence and tailored quit aids to help young adults be smokefree. Rigorous evaluation confirms the initiative’s success, and positions Lawrance and her team as inspired leaders in tobacco control. Based on her expertise, Dr. Lawrance is active on government advisory panels and national research conferences.
