Biography

Research Interest
Thongpapanl's main research interests include New Product Development, Innovation and Technology Management, E-Commerce, and Strategic Marketing Management in High Technology Environments. His dissertation, Understanding the Nature of Market Interaction in the NPD Process and Its Impact on Performance, examines the details behind NPD teams? direct interaction with the marketplace as they evolve a project that may have truly breakthrough implications. Currently, his research (funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada) investigates the exploration-exploitation tension that often presents problems in the implementation of both incremental and radical innovations, especially in highly dynamic settings.
