Biography
Shalini Singh is Professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at Brock University (ON). Singh’s research explores aspects of leisure tourism with a focus on destination communities, domestic tourism and cultural heritage, spirituality and, place – people synergies. She has also made contributions to themes related with communities in the Indian Himalaya and sacred – secular pilgrimages / journeys. Her current engagement is with a Buddhist world heritage site (UNESCO) in India to understand the agency of tourism for integration and reconciliation.
