Biography
Joseph G. Henry is the president and chief operating officer of the Nuclear Operations Group for BWX Technologies, Inc. He brings more than 20 years of extensive management experience in engineering and nuclear operations to this role. His responsibilities include overseeing the Company’s five nuclear manufacturing sites which provide components for the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Group. Previously, Mr. Henry served as the chief operating officer for the Company’s Nuclear Operations Group. Prior to this, he served as president of Nuclear Fuel Services, a subsidiary of the Company, and as chief of nuclear safety operations during the Company’s involvement in the management and operating contract for the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mr. Henry is a retired Two-Star Admiral with the U.S. Navy, where, as the Navy’s director of personnel plans & policy he developed and executed the Navy’s personnel strategy. He also served as commander of the nation’s east coast Trident Submarines and commanded two nuclear submarines; the USS Key West SSN 722 and USS Kentucky SSBN 737.
