Biography
Catharine Shaw is the Mining Client Program Manager at Golder Associates (Golder), a global organization providing consulting, design, and construction services in earth, environment, and related areas of energy. Since joining Golder in 2002, she has applied her marketing skills, business acumen, and client service approach to advance her career through a series of promotions. In 2008, she received the President’s Award in the categories of Excellence in Client Service and New Client and Business Development. In her current position, Shaw provides leadership services to Golder’s mining business focusing on growing relationships and opportunities with mining key accounts, key clients, and industry. She is an active volunteer in a number of activities that support the mining industry. Shaw is a founding member of the not for profit organization Women in Mining Canada, fulfilling diverse executive and director roles and serving two consecutive terms as President. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) and in 2010 was instrumental in establishing the Greater Toronto Area CIM Branch. In 2014, Shaw received the CIM President’s Role Model Medal in recognition of her leadership and lasting contributions to CIM. Currently, she serves on the Board of the Canadian Mining Equipment and Services for Export (CAMESE) as Vice President and Chair of the Personnel Committee.
