Biography
Howard Lincoln Shearer is the Chief Executive Canada, Hitachi Canada, and most recently served in the position of Chairman of Hitachi Power Systems Canada Ltd (April,2012- December 21st, 2013). After joining Hitachi Canada Ltd. in 1984, he rose through the ranks to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Hitachi Canada Ltd. (2001-2012) and also served as a member of the board of directors of Hitachi Canada Ltd, a position to which he was appointed in 1999. Prior to this, he served as Vice-President & General Manager of HCL’s Semiconductor division. His career spans over 37 years in both the high Tech and energy sectors having been employed by Texas Instruments as well as Murata Erie. Mr. Shearer holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario He currently serves on the following boards: GE-Hitachi Canada Ltd Metrolinx Canadian Nurses Foundation. Canadian Nuclear Association Energy Council of Canada University of Toronto Governing Council. Japan Society He has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Ontario and the Responsible Gambling Council as well as McMaster University Board of Governors. He currently serves on the Special Advisory Council to the League for Human Rights, B’naiBrith,Canada.
