Biography
Darren MacDonald has two decades of experience consulting to business, from startups to Fortune 500 corporations, on designing environments, processes and products from the perspective of the user. Much of his work involves participatory approaches to problem solving in a variety of work environments including: aerospace, automotive, call centers, consumer products, electronics, healthcare, food and beverage, laboratories, oil and chemical, pharmaceutical, software and utilities. He received his undergraduate degree from Dalhousie University’s School of Health and Human Performance and his masters in Ergonomics from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. Darren was part of the inaugural class for CBU’s UIT Startup Immersion program and is currently researching doctoral options in user experience and digital business. Darren is a professional member of the User Experience Professionals’ Association and is a certified user experience professional through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE) in Bellingham, WA. He currently sits on the Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO Technical Committee 159 for Ergonomics and the Institute for Work & Health’s Educationally Influential Ergonomists committee.
