Alan Fraser

Biography

Coming to Capilano University was a natural move for Alan having done volunteer work with the university, and previously when Capilano was a college, for over 10 years. Through that experience, he gained a deep appreciation for the Capilano approach to achieving student success and wanted to be a part of it. His volunteer association with Capilano included serving as a member of the School of Business Advisory Committee. His 30 year plus business career was diverse in terms of industry sectors which included the airline industry as well as the manufacturing, consulting and insurance fields. Alan had a wide variety of roles spanning human resources and operations management leading staff groups of up to 1200 employees. In the latter part of his corporate career, Alan was a Human Resources executive with a major insurance corporation. In that role he provided innovation and leadership in the areas of compensation, benefits, pension and wellness.
