Biography
laudia has taught in a variety of subject areas related to her areas of expertise – Destination Marketing, Tourism & Technology, Revenue Management for Tourism, Hospitality Operations, Air Transportation, Travel Agency Operations as well as Airline Manual Ticketing and Airline Computer Reservations Systems (SABRE). Claudia is a licensed travel services professional through the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and for many years, has been invited as Guest Lecturer of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) Rooms Division courses in local community colleges. Being a tourism professional working as a Marketing Manager for a large tourism conglomerate, she has conducted marketing activities for a variety of local and international hotel properties, airline, airport and ferry services, restaurants, retail operations, and travel and tour services. As well as teaching in the university setting both in Canada, she has worked as an instructor and Admissions Officer for the Tourism Department at the Institute of Tourism Education in Macau. Claudia’s time spent internationally within university settings allows her to understand and anticipate the needs of international students and successfully support their learning at Capilano University. Many current students and grads have regarded Claudia as a lifelong mentor and friend.
