Daina Moore

Biography

Daina’s work as a Licensed Practical Nurse has included experiences in assisted living, home support, complex care, and with clinical simulation learning technology. At the heart of the health care experience is the Health Care Assistant, and it is this program that Daina is most inspired by. Working with the next generation of Health Care Assistants on the North Shore is exciting as the opportunities in this field continue to grow.  “We want the Health Care Assistant students to feel connected to their peers, their clients, and with the local and global communities. Working in health care is challenging, rewarding, and life changing”.  Daina previously lived in Japan for five years as an instructor of English for both children and adults. She is presently furthering her nursing education through pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree and recently received training in San Diego, California to become a Certified Dementia Specialist. In her free time, she is a program facilitator at the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She has also completed a Master of Education degree in 21st Century Learning and Leadership through the University of Prince Edward Island, and is working on other graduate work in the fields of ESL and Adult Education.
