Biography
I have been teaching part-time in the Women's & Gender Studies program at Capilano University since 2007. My areas of specialization are gender, health, information and public policy, and I research decision-making about health issues that are influenced by social marginalization and inequity. My dissertation focused on the way information practices influence the health and well being of young mothers and fathers. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Child & Family Research Institute, studying parental decision-making about vaccinations. Work experience in the non-profit sector (domestic violence and sexual assault), education (pre-school through adult), co-operatives, libraries, and health services and policy research informs my research and teaching.
