Biography
Dr. Janet Waters has been teaching at Capilano University since 1987, after several years as a therapist in private practice. She is interested in "eudaimonia", or "human flourishing", what helps people heal, grow, create, and truly achieve their potential. Her past research has been in the topics of emotion and stress (including workplace stress); personality, development and cognition (especially consciousness, mindfulness & imagery), using quantitative & qualitative research (phenomenology). She is interested in emotion-focused, narrative & existential psychotherapy..
Research Interest
She teaches Introductory Psychology, Cognitive, Personality, & History of Psychology, Research Methods & Statistics for Music Therapy, & the application of Psychology to organizational performance in Organizational Behaviour. She has also been a therapist for 35 years.
