Biography
Kim McLeod grew up in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and began her post-studies at Capilano University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, from Simon Fraser University, majoring in Geography and minoring in Archaeology. McLeod later completed a Masters degree in Resource and Environmental Management, also at Simon Fraser University. After several years of consulting, Kim was hired as faculty in Capilano University’s Schools of Tourism Management and Outdoor Recreation Management. Since 2007, Kim has progressed through a number of administrative roles, convening a diploma program, managing a degree, chairing departments, and most recently, stepping into the role of Interim Dean of Education, Health, and Human Development. Kim has been active on committees (often as chair) within and outside the University, including provincial articulation, Senate, various Senate sub-committees, advisory committees to other institutions, and more. Kim lives in North Vancouver, where she enjoys the trees, rivers, and mountains. In her spare time, she can often be found hiking, backpacking, camping, mountain biking, gardening, practicing music (she is currently learning how to play the harp), or attending a meditation retreat.
