Biography
Maureen has been a member of the Anthropology department since 2001 and first taught the Women’s Studies course Women in Anthropology in Fall 2007. When not working, Maureen is mildly obsessed with knitting and handmade paper.
Research Interest
Her research specialties and areas of interest include ethnomusicology; linguistic anthropology; Indigenous knowledge systems; and the effects of development and globalization on Indigenous peoples and their cultures -- particularly on how these processes impact the lives of women.
