Biography
Tony Cusanelli was born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He obtained his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Simon Fraser University and then went on to pursue post-doctoral research at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. This, in turn, lead to a Teaching and Research Fellowship with the respective chemistry department, which now resides under the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. His career then came full circle as he joined the Department of Chemistry at Capilano, a teaching-focused university located in his home town. Since becoming a faculty member at this institution, Tony has participated on numerous academic committees, completed a term as a member of Senate, coordinated the Chemistry Department and has served as the Chair of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Most importantly, Tony has worked tirelessly to develop new programs and to improve the teaching and learning of chemical principles and their practical implementation in the laboratory.
