Sean Monkman

Biography

 Sean directs CarbonCure’s technical development and intellectual property activities. His focus is on the scientific and materials performance aspects of the company’s offerings. He has held concrete materials research positions at the University of Toronto and Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. His past work, study and research positions have spanned various concrete-related topics, including the chemistry of cement hydration and cement and slag carbonation. Sean’s expertise also lies in quantifying carbon emissions associated with cement and concrete. Sean holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from McGill University, an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a BSc in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Queen’s University. When not consumed by research, Sean enjoys recreational running, reading, cooking and reading cookbooks
